What is Compass?
Compass powers Katie's ability to represent your brand authentically.
Here, you upload and refine:
Your company pitch
Your key customer triggers
Keywords Katie should prioritize
DNC
Knowledge files like case studies and playbooks
Step 1: Upload Your Website URL
In the Compass dashboard, add your company's website URL.
Hit Generate.
Katie will scan your site and automatically pull key elements like:
What your company sells
Common customer pain points
Key value propositions
Proof points (metrics, awards, social proof)
In our example, we used Slack - Katie learned instantly that Slack offers AI-powered work management tools that streamline communication and boost productivity.
Step 2: Review and Edit Your Pitch
Once the data is pulled:
Kaite will automatically fill out or you have the opportunity to refine:
Company Name
What are you selling
Pain Points
Value Propositions
Proof Points
Make sure the language sounds natural and aligned with how your team would describe your solution.
When ready, hit Save.
Step 3: Fine-Tune Keywords
Move to the Keywords tab.
Katie will suggest keywords based on your business.
You can add or remove keywords related to your industry, product features, and customer needs.
Example for Slack:
Productivity tools
AI work management
Salesforce integration
Team messaging
Workflow automation
Tip: Good keywords help Katie find more relevant leads and better trigger events.
Step 4: Manage Your DNC (Do Not Contact) List
Use the DNC list to prevent Katie from contacting specific companies or individual prospects that you’ve excluded from outreach.
Navigate to the DNC list tab.
Add Excluded Companies
Under the Companies tab, begin typing to search and add specific companies (e.g., LinkedIn, Amazon, Microsoft).
These companies will be excluded from all future outreach.
Upload a Domain List
To exclude companies in bulk, click Upload domain list.
Make sure the uploaded file includes clear domain identifiers (e.g., microsoft.com, amazon.com).
Add Individual Prospects
Switch to the Prospects tab to manually enter or upload individual contacts you want Katie to skip.
This is useful if you’ve already reached out to certain people or have internal do-not-touch policies.
Step 5: Set Prospecting Triggers
Head over to the Triggers tab.
This is where you tell Katie what signals matter most when prospecting.
You can select company-level and personal-level triggers like:
Funding announcement
Product launch
Leadership change
Job change (promotion, new role)
Work anniversary
Tip: Setting strong triggers ensures Katie reaches out at exactly the right moment.
Step 6: Upload to the Knowledge Base
The Knowledge tab lets you add case studies, playbooks, one-pagers, and other important documents.
Katie uses this material to further refine messaging and outreach.
Click Add File to upload PDFs or other assets.
Knowledge files are optional, but highly recommended.
Tip: More context = more powerful, informed conversations with prospects
