How to Connect Salesforce CRM to Alta
Use this guide to integrate your Salesforce CRM with Alta, configure de-duplication for inbound data, and set up push rules for outbound activity.
Prerequisites
Alta Account: You must have admin or integration-level permissions.
Salesforce Account: You must have admin rights to install and configure integrations.
1. Enable the Salesforce Integration
In Alta, navigate to Settings → Integrations.
Find Salesforce and click Connect (Sync).
Authorize the connection by logging into your Salesforce org when prompted.
2. Configure De-duplication (Inbound Sync)
Prevent Alta from reaching out to contacts or companies that already exist in Salesforce:
Under the Salesforce integration, go to the Sync tab.
Select the level of de-duplication you need:
Leads
Contacts
Companies
Toggle On, then click Add Filter.
Define your rules:
Field: e.g.,
Status
Operator:
Equals
orIn
(to include multiple values)Value: e.g.,
Contacted
(Optional) Add additional filters by repeating steps 3–4.
For company-level de-duplication, set:
Field:
Account Type
Operator:
Equals
Value: e.g.,
Customer Direct
3. Set Up Push Rules (Outbound to Salesforce)
Decide when Alta activities (new prospects, replies, etc.) should create or update records in Salesforce:
Switch to the Push tab within the Salesforce integration.
Toggle On for the record type you want to push:
Leads
Contacts
Companies
Choose your trigger events:
On First Outreach
Only on Connection Accepted
On Positive Reply
On phone fetched
Click Add Field Mapping and configure:
Alta Field → Salesforce Field
Example: Set Lead Status to a static value (e.g.,
Open – Contacted
).
Enable Send on Update to push any subsequent changes from Alta back into Salesforce.
Update Existing Data: When a lead generated in Alta already exists in Salesforce, enabling this toggle allows Alta to update that prospect’s information in Salesforce
4. Review and Save
Double-check your filter and mapping rules for both Deduplication and Push rules.
Click Save to activate the integration.
Monitor your first few records to ensure data flows as expected.
