Alta sometimes ships new capabilities as Beta Features — early-access functionality you can switch on for yourself before it's released to everyone. The Beta features page in your personal settings lists the betas available to you, each with a simple on/off toggle.
Who this is for: Any Alta user who wants to try new functionality early. Toggles here apply to your own account only — they don't change anything for your teammates.
Open the Beta features page
Click your avatar in the top-right corner of Alta.
Select My profile.
In the left sidebar of User Settings, click Beta features (the flask icon).
You'll land on a page titled Beta Features with one row per available beta, each showing the feature name and a toggle on the right.
Turn a beta feature on or off
Find the feature you want in the list.
Click its toggle to switch it on. Alta confirms with Successfully granted beta feature.
To turn it back off, click the toggle again. You'll see Successfully revoked beta feature.
There's no Save button — each toggle applies the moment you flip it.
Tips and common pitfalls
Changes are personal. Granting or revoking a beta here affects only your account, not your teammates'. Everyone manages their own Beta features page.
Refresh if you don't see it yet. After enabling a beta, reload the page (or navigate away and back) so the new functionality shows up.
Only available betas are listed. The page shows the betas Alta currently offers for self-serve opt-in. If something you heard about isn't here, it may be enabled by Alta at the workspace level instead (for example, channels like SMS and WhatsApp) — reach out to your Alta contact or the support chat.
Betas are works in progress. Expect the occasional rough edge, and know that a beta's behavior can change or be removed before general release.
A toggle didn't stick? If you see Failed to grant beta feature or Failed to revoke beta feature, try again in a moment; if it keeps failing, contact support.
