Summary
Once your Web Assistant is live on your site, the Analytics tab shows you how it's performing — how many conversations it's starting, how many unique visitors it's capturing, and how many meetings those visitors book. This article walks through every card and chart on the page.
Who this is for: Anyone running a chat or voice Web Assistant who wants to measure inbound engagement — typically Marketing, RevOps, or whoever owns the website widget.
Before you start
You need a web assistant (Chat Widget or Voice Widget) already created. Analytics are only available for web assistants — phone calling assistants have a Calls tab instead.
Data appears once visitors start interacting with the embedded widget, so make sure the embed snippet is installed on your site.
Steps
Go to Assistants in the Alta sidebar.
Open your web assistant. You'll see two tabs at the top: Web Chats (or Web Calls for a voice widget) and Analytics.
Click Analytics.
Pick a date range at the top: Past 7 Days, Past 30 Days, Past 90 Days, or a custom range. The default is Past 30 Days.
Read the five summary cards (hover the icon next to each label for its exact definition):
Conversations opened — total web sessions started in the selected period.
Unique visitors — distinct visitor emails in the selected period (case-insensitive, so
[email protected]and[email protected]count once).Meetings booked — meetings linked to visitors who interacted with this assistant.
Sessions without email — sessions where no email was captured on the prospect.
Avg. session time — average session duration for conversations with a recorded duration. Shows
--when there's nothing to average yet.
Review the three charts below the cards:
Conversations over time — a daily column chart of sessions started, so you can spot spikes after a campaign launch or a new page going live.
Interactions by hour — when during the day visitors engage, displayed in your local timezone. Useful for staffing follow-up or judging after-hours coverage.
Disposition — how conversations ended, grouped by the outcome labels from your assistant's Chat Outputs / Call Outputs step, sorted by count.
Tips and common pitfalls
"Sessions without email" and "Skip Email Screen" go hand in hand. If you turned on Skip Email Screen in the builder's Visual Style step, expect more sessions without email and a lower unique-visitor count — visitors are only identified if the assistant captures an email during the conversation.
Meetings booked isn't limited to the date window. The date range selects which visitors (sessions) are included; the card then counts all meetings linked to those prospects, even if the meeting was booked outside the selected range.
Seeing "Unknown" in the Disposition chart? Those are sessions that ended without an outcome label. Tighten the summarization and labeling rules in your assistant's Chat Outputs / Call Outputs step to reduce them.
Avg. session time skips unmeasured sessions. Sessions with no recorded duration (for example, ones that never really started) are excluded from the average rather than counted as zero.
Clearing the date filter doesn't mean "all time." With no range selected, Alta falls back to the last 30 days.
