How to Route Alta Notifications to Microsoft Teams (Replies, Daily Plan, and Manual Tasks)

Send Alta's prospect reply, daily plan, and Manual Task approval notifications to Microsoft Teams channels or direct messages.

Written by Katie Supporté

Summary: Alta can deliver prospect reply alerts, your daily outreach plan, and Manual Task approval requests straight into Microsoft Teams — to any channel or as a direct message to specific people.

Who this is for: Teams that run on Microsoft Teams instead of Slack and want Alta's real-time notifications where they already work.

Before you start

  • You need a Microsoft Teams account you're allowed to authorize (Alta connects via Microsoft OAuth).

  • Notification routing is account-wide. Personal in-app and email preferences are managed separately under Notification Preferences.

Step 1 — Connect Microsoft Teams

  1. From the main navigation, open SettingsIntegrations.

  2. Find Microsoft Teams and connect it. You'll be taken through Microsoft's sign-in and consent flow.

  3. Once connected, the integration shows as Connected.

Step 2 — Open Notification settings

  1. Go to SettingsNotifications.

  2. If nothing is connected yet, you'll see "No notification integration connected" with a Go to Integrations button — connect Slack or Microsoft Teams first.

  3. If both Slack and Microsoft Teams are connected, you'll see two tabs. Click the Microsoft Teams tab.

Step 3 — Choose where each notification type goes

You'll see three pickers, one per notification type. Each is a multi-select with the placeholder "Select channels or people":

  1. Select Microsoft Teams channels or people to receive notifications for prospect replies — fires whenever a prospect replies to your outreach.

  2. Select Microsoft Teams channels or people to receive daily plan notifications (Beta) — a morning summary of everything Alta has scheduled for the day.

  3. Select Microsoft Teams channels or people to receive Manual Task approval notifications — fires when a Manual Task touchpoint needs a human to review a prospect.

In each picker:

  • Channels are listed as Team name / Channel name.

  • People are listed as DM: Name (email) — Alta sends them a direct message.

  • You can mix channels and people, and select as many as you like.

Selections save automatically — you'll see a "Microsoft Teams settings updated successfully" confirmation.

What each notification contains

  • Prospect replies — an alert when a prospect responds, so your team can jump into the conversation from the Alta Inbox.

  • Daily plan (Beta) — sent around 9:00 AM in your account's timezone, and only on days where outreach is actually scheduled. It summarizes the day's planned emails, LinkedIn messages, likes/comments, and calls, broken down by rep and by campaign.

  • Manual Task approval — includes the prospect's name, the campaign, the task note, and a Review Prospect in Alta link that opens the prospect so you can approve or decline.

Tips and common pitfalls

  • The pickers are disabled until Microsoft Teams is connected — if they're grayed out, finish Step 1 first.

  • No daily plan today? That's expected when nothing is scheduled — Alta skips the daily plan on days with no planned steps.

  • Slack and Microsoft Teams can be active at the same time. Each has its own routing, so the same event can go to both.

  • Routing here is for account-level channel notifications. To control what you personally receive in-app or by email, use your Notification Preferences instead.
