How to Use Messaging (Global Instructions)

This guide explains how to set up Global Instructions in Messaging, so Katie follows consistent rules across all campaigns.

Written by Sharon Drelevich

Overview

The Messaging section allows you to define rules that apply automatically to all campaigns.

These are called Global Instructions, and they run in the background—so you don’t need to repeat them every time you create a campaign.

Step 1: Navigate to Messaging

  1. Go to the bottom-left corner of the platform

  2. Click on Knowledge

  3. Select Messaging

Step 2: Add Global Instructions

  1. Click Add Global Instructions

  2. Enter your instruction

Example:

  • “End every email with ‘Best regards’”

  1. Click Add to List

Step 3: Save Your Instructions

  1. Click Save

  2. The instruction will now appear on the main Messaging page

How It Works

  • Global Instructions are automatically applied to:

    • All campaigns

    • All messages generated by Katie

  • They run in the background, so you don’t need to manually include them each time

Campaign-Level Customization

  • You can still modify or override these instructions at the campaign level if needed

  • This gives you flexibility while maintaining consistency

Best Practices

  • Use Global Instructions for:

    • Email signatures (e.g., “Best regards”)

    • Tone and style guidelines

    • Formatting rules

  • Keep instructions:

    • Clear and specific

    • Short and actionable
