The Alta Chrome extension lets you select people while you browse — for example on a LinkedIn search or Sales Navigator results page — and push them straight into one of your campaigns without leaving the page.
Who this is for: Anyone sourcing prospects from LinkedIn or another web page who wants to add them to an existing Alta campaign in a couple of clicks.
Before you start
Install and connect the Alta Chrome extension. If you haven't yet, follow How to Connect Your LinkedIn account — it walks through adding the extension to Chrome.
Have an eligible campaign ready. The extension only shows campaigns that are Active and use a list audience source. If your campaign is paused/draft, or pulls its audience from another source, it won't appear in the picker. Create or activate a list-based campaign first.
Steps
Open the page with the people you want to add (for example, a LinkedIn or Sales Navigator search results page).
Select profiles using the checkboxes on the page. If you open the extension before selecting anyone, you'll see "No profiles selected — Select profiles on the page using the checkboxes, then click 'Add to campaign' to get started."
Click "Add to campaign" to open the Alta panel. It greets you with "One last thing, — Let's choose which campaign to add your selection."
Pick a campaign from the "Select campaign" dropdown. Below it you'll see a count, e.g. "Add 12 profiles to a campaign."
Review your list. Each person shows their name and job title. To drop someone before adding, click the trash icon on their row.
Click "Add to Campaign." This button stays disabled until you've chosen a campaign. When the upload finishes you'll see "Prospects uploaded successfully," and a green checkmark appears on every profile that was added.
You can close the panel any time with Cancel, the X in the top-right corner, or the Esc key.
Tips and common pitfalls
Don't see your campaign? Only Active, list-based campaigns appear in the dropdown. Activate the campaign (or switch it to a list audience source) and reopen the panel.
No duplicates. Alta de-duplicates by LinkedIn profile, email, and LinkedIn URL. If a person is already in the selected campaign, they're skipped automatically — re-adding the same selection won't create duplicates, and already-added profiles keep their green checkmark.
Switching campaigns. The checkmarks are tracked per campaign. If you change the selected campaign, the panel re-checks which of your selected profiles are already in that campaign.
Add in batches. You can keep selecting more profiles on the page and they'll be added to your current list in the panel, with duplicates filtered out.
If an upload fails you'll see "Failed to upload prospects." Check your connection and that the campaign is still active, then try again.
