How to Create an ICP Audience Using Trigger Events

Trigger Events allow you to create a live campaign audience based on specific events that happen to prospects, such as a job change.

What Are Trigger Events?

Trigger Events are signals that Alta can use to identify prospects when a specific event happens.

For example, you can create a trigger for prospects who recently changed jobs or companies.

Once the trigger is set up, Alta will continue finding matching prospects over time.

Important Note

Each trigger can find up to 30 prospects per day.

Because this is a live running campaign, Alta will not show all matching prospects at once. Instead, it will show a preview of the type of prospects the trigger can find.

Step 1: Go to Campaigns

From your Alta account, click Campaigns.

Step 2: Create a New Campaign

Click Create Campaign.

Step 3: Select Trigger Events

Click Trigger Events.

This is where you can set up triggers to automatically find prospects when a specific event happens.

Step 4: Add a Trigger

Click Add Trigger.

Step 5: Choose the Trigger Type

Select the trigger type you want to use.

For example, you can choose Job Change.

This trigger looks for people who have changed jobs or companies

.

Step 6: Add Trigger Criteria

After selecting the trigger type, add the relevant criteria.

For example, if you are using the Job Change trigger, you can define how recent the job change should be.

You can enter a number of days, such as 30.

This means Alta will look for prospects who changed jobs or companies within the last 30 days.

Step 7: Save the Trigger

Click Save Trigger.

Step 8: Search for Prospects

Click Search.

Prospects will start appearing on the right-hand side of the screen.

Since this is a live campaign, you may only see a preview of the prospects at first.

Step 9: Review the Prospect Preview

Review the prospects shown on the right-hand side.

You will be able to see:

  • Whether the prospect is a match

  • The trigger that matched the prospect

  • The source of the trigger

For example, if the trigger is Job Change, the prospect preview will show that the match came from a job change signal.

Recommended Use Case

Use Trigger Events when you want Alta to continuously find prospects based on timely events.

For example, you can use the Job Change trigger to reach out to people who recently started a new role or moved to a new company.

This can make your outreach more relevant because the prospect may be more open to exploring new tools, processes, or solutions during a transition period.
