How to Use Company Search in ABM Campaigns

Company Search allows you to build a target company list for an ABM, or Account-Based Marketing, campaign in Alta. This is useful when you want to target specific companies first, and then let Alta find and enrich relevant prospects from those companies.

What Is Company Search?

Company Search is an ABM audience source that helps you create a list of companies you want to target.

Step 1: Create a Campaign

From your Alta account, go to Campaigns.

Click Create Campaign.

Step 2: Go to the Audience Section

When you reach the Audience section, choose the source for your campaign audience.

Step 3: Select ABM

Click ABM.

Step 4: Choose Company Search

Inside the ABM source options, click Company Search.

This allows you to build your company list directly inside Alta.

Step 5: Search for Companies

Use the available filters to search for companies you want to target.

For example, you can search by industry, such as Accounting.

Once your criteria are added, click Search.

Step 6: Review the Company Preview

After clicking Search, a list of potential companies will appear on the right-hand side of the screen.

This live preview helps you review companies before adding them to your target list.

Step 7: Load More Companies

If you want to see more results, scroll to the bottom of the preview panel and click Load More.

This will show additional companies that match your search criteria.

Step 8: Select Companies to Target

You can choose which companies to include in your campaign.

You can either:

  • Select all companies

  • Select only specific companies you want to target

Step 9: Add Companies to the Selected List

After choosing the companies you want to target, click Add to Selected.

This adds the companies to your campaign’s target company list.

Step 10: Add Filters for Specific Personas Inside Those Companies

After selecting your target companies, add filters to define the specific personas you want to reach inside those companies.

For example, you can filter by:

  • Job titles

  • Departments

  • Seniority

  • Location

  • Other relevant persona criteria

These filters help Alta find the right prospects within the companies you selected.

Step 11: Launch the Campaign

Continue building the rest of your campaign.

Once the campaign is created and launched, Alta will:

  • Find prospects from the selected companies

  • Enrich the prospect data automatically

  • Use those prospects in your campaign audience

Recommended Use Case

Use Company Search when you want to run an ABM campaign focused on specific companies or industries.

For example, if you want to target companies in the accounting industry, you can search for accounting companies, select the most relevant ones, and then add persona filters to reach the right people inside those accounts.
