How to Use Google Map in ABM Campaigns

The Google Map feature allows you to find companies based on a specific location and business type or keyword. This is useful when you want to build an ABM, or Account-Based Marketing, campaign targeting businesses in a specific city or area.

What Is the Google Map Feature?

The Google Map source helps you search for businesses in a selected location.

You can define the city, adjust the search radius, and filter by business type or specific keywords.

Alta will then show a preview of matching businesses on the right-hand side of the screen.

Step 1: Go to the Audience Section

When creating a campaign, go to the Audience section in the Campaign Builder.

Step 2: Select ABM

Click ABM.

ABM stands for Account-Based Marketing.

Step 3: Choose Google Map

Click Google Map.

This opens the map-based company search.

Step 4: Search for a City

Enter the city you want to target.

For example, you can search for London.

Step 5: Adjust the Search Radius

At the bottom of the map, select the radius you want to use.

The radius controls how wide the search area will be around the selected location.

Step 6: Zoom In or Out

Use the plus and minus buttons on the map to zoom in or out.

This helps you focus on a more specific area or expand the visible map area.

Step 7: Choose a Filter Type

Choose how you want to search for businesses.

You can filter by:

  • Business type

  • Specific keywords

Step 8: Add Your Business Type or Keywords

Add the business type or keywords you want to search for.

For example, you can choose Art Galleries as the business type.

Step 9: Search for Businesses

Click Search.

Alta will show a preview of matching businesses on the right-hand side of the screen.

For example, if you searched for art galleries in London, the preview will show art galleries within the selected radius.

Step 10: Select Businesses from the Business Preview

Review the businesses shown on the right-hand side of the screen.

Select the businesses you want to include in your campaign.

This step helps you choose the specific companies you want Alta to target.

Step 11: Add Filters for Specific Personas Inside Those Companies

After selecting the businesses, add filters to define the specific personas you want to reach inside those companies.

For example, you can filter by:

  • Job titles

  • Departments

  • Seniority

  • Location

  • Other relevant persona criteria

These filters help Alta find the right prospects within the companies found through the Google Map search.

Recommended Use Case

Use Google Map when you want to target local businesses in a specific city or geographic area.

For example, if you want to run a campaign targeting art galleries in London, you can search for London, choose the right radius, select Art Galleries as the business type, select the relevant businesses from the preview, and then add persona filters to reach the right people inside those companies.
