How to Use the Companies View in Alta (Track Accounts Across Campaigns)

Track every company your campaigns touch — signals, tags, coverage, and campaign membership — from the account-wide Companies page or the Companies tab inside a campaign, with filters, saved views, and CSV export.

Written by Katie Supporté

Summary: The Companies view rolls your prospects up to the account level — one row per company, with size, country, industry, signals, tags, the campaigns it appears in, and how many prospects you have there — searchable, filterable, and exportable to CSV.

Who this is for: Anyone running account-based (ABM) outreach, or anyone who thinks in accounts rather than individual prospects.

Where to find it

The Companies view lives in two places:

  • Account-wide: Go to Prospects → Companies. This shows every company across all your campaigns, with the full filter bar and saved views.

  • Inside a campaign: Open a campaign and switch to its Companies tab. This is the same table scoped to that campaign only.

Reading the table

Each row is one company, with these columns:

  • Company — logo, name, and website. Clicking the name opens the company's website in a new tab.

  • Size — employee-count range.

  • Country and Industry.

  • Signals — buying signals Alta detected for the company (shown as chips).

  • Tags — tags assigned to the company.

  • Campaigns — every campaign this company appears in.

  • Coverage — how many prospects you have at this company. Click the count to open a drilldown table of those prospects.

Opening a company

  1. Click any row (anywhere except the checkbox or the Coverage count). A side panel slides open with the company's logo, name, website, and top signals.

  2. Use the tabs to dig in:

    • Company Info — firmographic details and signal definitions.

    • Prospects — the people you have at this company.

    • Campaigns — which campaigns include this company (shown on the account-wide page; inside a campaign this tab is hidden since you're already in one).

  3. Move between companies without closing the panel: press for the next company, for the previous one, and Esc to close.

Filtering and saved views

On the account-wide Prospects → Companies page:

  1. Use the Search box to find a company by name.

  2. Use the filter buttons to narrow the list: Campaign, Country, Industry, Size, Signals, and Campaign Type (Inbound or Outbound).

  3. Once you change filters, a Save button appears. Use its dropdown to choose Save to current view or Save as new view. Saved views appear as tabs next to the built-in All view, so you can jump back to a filter set in one click.

The All view is a system view and can't be overwritten — use Save as new view when starting from it.

Exporting companies

  1. To export a subset, tick the checkboxes next to the companies you want (the header checkbox selects the whole page). To export everything matching your filters, leave all checkboxes empty.

  2. Click Export. Hover it first to confirm the scope — the tooltip reads "Export N selected companies" or "Export all N companies".

  3. Alta prepares the CSV in the background and delivers a download link when it's ready, so you can keep working.

Tips and common pitfalls

  • Export limit: exports are capped at 10,000 companies. If the button is disabled with "Cannot export more than 10,000 companies", narrow your filters or select fewer companies first.

  • Empty table right after launching? If your audience is still generating, the Companies tab shows a generation-in-progress banner — companies appear as prospects are sourced.

  • Coverage is scoped: inside a campaign, Coverage counts only that campaign's prospects; on the account-wide page it reflects your current campaign filter.

  • Selection is per page: the header checkbox selects the visible page, not the entire filtered result. For everything, clear the selection and use Export all.
