How Alta Protects Your LinkedIn Deliverability

Written by Katie Supporté

On LinkedIn, deliverability comes down to account standing. An account LinkedIn has throttled or restricted stops reaching prospects at all, so Alta protects each rep's account with safeguards that work largely without user intervention.

Core Protection Features

Quota-Enforced Rate Limiting: Every LinkedIn action runs through a quota engine that checks the account's daily limit before executing. Connection requests, messages, profile views, and post reactions are tracked as separate quotas, so activity in one doesn't consume another. Limits are enforced per rep rather than per organization, and Alta applies plan-aware limits across free, Premium, and Sales Navigator accounts.

Rate-Limit Detection and Automatic Halt: When LinkedIn restricts an account, Alta marks it as rate-limited and stops all outreach on that account. Continued activity during a restriction window is what turns a temporary limit into a lasting one. The rep's card shows an error status, and a Reconnect button appears when re-authentication is needed.

Per-Rep Quota Visibility: Settings → Integrations → LinkedIn shows a live counter of requests sent today against the daily limit for each connected account, along with a Reserve quota option that sets aside part of the daily budget for a specific campaign.

SSI Score Monitoring Alta fetches each rep's LinkedIn Social Selling Index and displays it with sub-scores for profile strength, connections, engagement, and relationship building. SSI is LinkedIn's own reach signal, so a declining score is often the earliest indication that an account is losing visibility.

Reply Sentiment Classification: Incoming replies are classified automatically as positive, objection, out-of-office, or negative. Follow-ups stop after a negative reply, since continuing to message someone who has declined is one of the fastest routes to a spam report. The sentiment appears as a chip on each reply in the prospect timeline.

Message Scoring Before Send: Outgoing LinkedIn messages are scored by AI before they send, and messages below the threshold are held for review rather than delivered. The threshold is configurable in Campaign Settings → Autopilot.

Behind-the-Scenes Protections

Alta applies several safeguards automatically, with nothing to configure:

  • Per-account proxy routing, so each rep's activity originates from a distinct IP rather than a shared server

  • Per-account browser fingerprinting, so requests resemble a real browser session

  • A do-not-contact check against your connected CRM before every send

  • A duplicate-guard that aborts a connection request if the prospect is already connected or pending

  • Invitation ID tracking on every request sent, which supports deduplication and withdrawal flows

If an Account Gets Restricted

  1. Pause the rep's campaigns and stop all activity for 24 hours. Continued automated activity during a restriction worsens the account's standing.

  2. Clear cookies and reconnect through Settings → Integrations → LinkedIn → Reconnect. Use a dedicated browser profile per rep to avoid session cross-contamination.

  3. Lower the rep's daily connection cap to 15 for one week before returning to the standard limit, so trust rebuilds gradually.

Recommended Practices

  • Review each rep's SSI score and quota usage regularly rather than waiting for an error status

  • Reconnect a flagged account promptly instead of leaving it in an error state

  • Rephrase messages held by scoring rather than forcing them through

  • Keep audiences tightly targeted, since irrelevant outreach drives the spam reports that lead to restrictions

  • Reserve quota for priority campaigns instead of letting them compete for the same daily budget
