Alta can turn your reps' existing LinkedIn networks into a campaign audience. Instead of searching cold, you point a campaign at the connections a rep already has and pull those people in as prospects — warm relationships you can reach out to through the rest of your campaign.
Who this is for
Anyone building a campaign audience who wants to reach the people their team already knows on LinkedIn, rather than (or alongside) a cold ICP search.
Before you start
You need at least one rep with a connected LinkedIn account. If you don't have one yet, connect a LinkedIn account in rep settings first — accounts that aren't connected won't appear as an option.
The LinkedIn account can't be in an error state or rate limited. Accounts with an issue are shown but can't be selected (see the pitfalls below).
Select the LinkedIn Connections source
Start or edit a campaign and go to the audience step to open the audience sources marketplace.
Use the Search sources… box or browse the categories, and find the LinkedIn Connections source.
Click Preview to read more about the source, or click Select to start configuring it.
Configure your connections audience
Under LinkedIn Accounts, you'll see each rep that has a connected LinkedIn account, with their name and profile link. Check the account you want to pull connections from. You can choose one LinkedIn account at a time — selecting a different account replaces your previous choice.
(Optional) Set Max connections per account to cap how many connections to fetch. Leave it empty to fetch all connections from that account.
Click Search to pull the connections and preview them on the right. The preview header shows how many you're seeing out of the total found (for example,
50 of 1,240).Review the previewed prospects, then continue building your campaign as usual.
Tips and common pitfalls
One account per audience. The connections source pulls from a single LinkedIn account at a time. If you want connections from several reps, that's a sign to run separate audiences or campaigns.
"No reps with LinkedIn accounts found." This message means no rep has a LinkedIn account connected yet. Connect a LinkedIn account in rep settings, then come back to this step.
An account is greyed out. If a LinkedIn account shows the note "This LinkedIn account is marked with an error or is rate limited," it can't be selected right now. Reconnect or fix the account in rep settings, or wait for the rate limit to clear, then try again.
Leave the limit empty to get everyone. The Max connections per account field is optional — an empty value fetches all connections. Set a number only when you want a smaller, faster sample.
"No connections found." If the preview comes back empty, the selected account may not have synced connections yet. Confirm the account is healthy in rep settings before relying on it as a source.
