How to Set Your Campaign's Sending Schedule in Alta (Timezones, Active Days, and Sending Hours)

Control exactly when your campaign contacts prospects: prospect-timezone sending, active days, daily sending window, an automatic end date, and the Start Sequence Immediately option.

Written by Katie Supporté

Summary: Every Alta campaign has Schedule Settings that control which days, which hours, and in whose timezone your outreach goes out — plus an optional end date that automatically pauses the campaign.

Who this is for: Anyone running an outbound or inbound campaign who wants messages, calls, and LinkedIn touches to land during the right working hours.

Where to find Schedule Settings

  1. Open your campaign and go to the Settings step.

  2. Click the Schedule Settings section ("Configure when and how often to contact prospects") to expand it. It sits below Reply Assistant and above Prospect Limitations.

Set the timezone

  1. Prospect timezone — leave this toggle on (the default) and Alta schedules each touchpoint in the individual prospect's local timezone. If a prospect's timezone is unavailable, Alta falls back to the default timezone.

  2. Default timezone — pick the fallback timezone from the dropdown. It defaults to your own browser timezone, so double-check it if your team schedules campaigns for another region.

Choose active days and hours

  1. Active days — click the day buttons to toggle each day on or off. New campaigns default to Monday through Friday.

  2. Start from and End at — set the daily sending window with the two hour dropdowns. The default window is 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The end time must be later than the start time — if you pick a start time at or after the current end time, Alta automatically moves the end time to one hour after the start.

Optionally set an end date

  1. Turn on the End campaign date toggle.

  2. Pick a date in the field that appears. After this date, the campaign automatically pauses and stops running. The date is required once the toggle is on — you'll see "End campaign date is required when enabled" if you leave it empty.

Start Sequence Immediately (inbound and time-sensitive campaigns)

Some accounts also see a Start Sequence Immediately toggle at the top of Schedule Settings. When on, prospects enter the sequence right away, ignoring the schedule — best for inbound or time-sensitive campaigns where a fast first touch matters more than business-hours sending. It's always available on inbound campaigns; on outbound campaigns it depends on your plan.

When you're done, save your settings from the Settings step.

Tips and common pitfalls

  • Prospect timezone is on by default — this is usually what you want. A 9:00 AM–5:00 PM window then means 9-to-5 for each prospect, not for you.

  • The default timezone comes from your browser. If you build campaigns while traveling or for a team in another region, set it explicitly.

  • The schedule controls when touchpoints go out, not how many prospects enter the campaign each day — that's the daily quota in General Settings.

  • An end date pauses the campaign, it doesn't delete it — you can always resume or extend it later.
