How to Use the Prospect Slide-Over in Alta (Timeline, Tabs, and Quick Actions)

Open any prospect to see their full outreach timeline, profile tabs, signals, and quick actions like Pause, Approve to send, Sync to CRM, and keyboard navigation.

Written by Katie Supporté

Summary: Clicking any prospect in Alta opens a slide-over panel with their complete outreach story — every step Alta has taken or scheduled, their profile and company details, buying signals, data sources, and one-click actions like Pause, Approve to send, and Sync to CRM.

Who this is for: Anyone reviewing prospects — checking what Alta sent, approving outreach, or troubleshooting why a prospect hasn't received a message yet.

Opening the slide-over

Click any prospect row in a campaign's Prospects tab, or in Prospects → People. The panel slides in from the right and shows the prospect without leaving the table.

You can move through your list without closing it:

  • Press the and arrow keys (or click the chevron buttons at the top left) to jump to the next or previous prospect.

  • Press Esc (or click the X) to close.

The header: status at a glance

The top of the panel shows the prospect's photo, name, and title, along with their current status badge (hover it for details) and, if a reply has been classified, an outcome badge such as Interested or Meeting Booked. Up to three signal chips appear under the name — click them to see the full signal details.

Clicking the prospect's name jumps straight to the Personal Info tab.

The tabs

  1. Timeline — the full outreach history and upcoming steps (see below).

  2. Personal Info — the prospect's profile fields: role, location, contact details, and custom fields.

  3. Company Info — details about the prospect's company. This tab only appears when the prospect is linked to a company.

  4. Signals — a feed of buying signals detected for this person and their company.

  5. Sources — where the prospect's data came from: the providers and enrichment integrations that supplied each piece of information.

Reading the Timeline

The Timeline starts from the beginning: a "campaign launched" entry (the campaign name links back to the campaign page) and a "was sourced" entry showing when the prospect entered Alta. After that, every workflow step appears in order — emails, LinkedIn touches, calls, conditions, and manual tasks — each with its status and timing.

Above the timeline you'll see the Assigned rep — the rep sending this prospect's outreach and the exact mailbox being used. The rep name links to their settings page.

If later steps haven't been generated yet, click Show all steps to have Alta prepare the remaining sequence so you can preview upcoming messages. This can take a few minutes for long sequences.

Quick actions

The buttons above the timeline change based on where the prospect is in their workflow:

  • Approve to send / Reject — shown while the prospect is waiting for review. Approving schedules the sequence; rejecting removes them from outreach (a 5-second Undo appears after rejecting).

  • Pause — shown while the sequence is active. Stops all upcoming steps until you resume.

  • Resume — shown while paused. Picks the sequence back up.

  • Restore — shown for rejected prospects. Brings them back and resumes the workflow.

  • Sync — shown when a CRM is connected. Pushes the prospect to your CRM on demand. The button is hidden for prospects that are still preparing or were rejected.

At the bottom of the Timeline you can also reply directly to the prospect's email thread, LinkedIn conversation, or SMS conversation without leaving the panel.

Deleting a prospect

Open the menu at the top right and choose Delete. Deleting is only available before outreach begins — the prospect must be in Researching, Waiting for Review, Queued, or Rejected status. Once a sequence has started, pause or reject the prospect instead.

Tips and common pitfalls

  • Review fast with the keyboard. Arrow keys move between prospects and Esc closes the panel — handy when approving a large batch. (Arrow keys are ignored while you're typing in a text field.)

  • Actions require campaign edit permission. If Pause, Approve, or Sync is grayed out, you don't have edit access to this campaign — the tooltip will say so. Replying requires reply permission.

  • Don't see the Company Info tab? The prospect isn't linked to a company record.

  • "Show all steps" takes a while? Alta generates each remaining message individually. If it fails, you'll see a "Failed to show all steps" notice — try again later.
