Note: This setup helps avoid constantly switching between LinkedIn accounts and reduces the chances of your LinkedIn account getting disconnected from Alta.

Step 1: Create a New Chrome Profile

  1. Open Google Chrome.

  2. Click your Chrome profile icon in the top-right corner.

  3. Select Add Chrome Profile.

  4. Click Stay Signed Out.

  5. Name the profile using your colleague’s name.
    Example: John Doe - Alta

  6. Click Use Chrome without an account.

This helps keep browser sessions and LinkedIn accounts separated.

Step 2: Log In to Your Colleague’s Alta Account

  1. In the new Chrome profile, open Alta.

  2. Log in using your colleague’s Alta email address and password.

  3. Once logged in, you will be inside their Alta account.

Step 3: Open Alta Settings

  1. In Alta, go to the bottom-left corner.

  2. Click Settings.

  3. Click Katie’s Reps.

  4. You will see the list of available reps.

Step 4: Connect the LinkedIn Account

  1. Find your colleague’s name in the reps list and click on it.

  2. On the right-hand side, under Connect your LinkedIn, click the plus (+) icon.

  3. Install the Alta Chrome extension if prompted.

  4. Log in to your colleague’s LinkedIn account.

  5. Once the login is complete, click Save.

The LinkedIn account should now be connected to the colleague’s Alta account.

Step 5: Access the Connection Later

If you need to make changes in the future:

  1. Go back to your main Chrome browser.

  2. Click the Chrome profile icon in the top-right corner.

  3. Select the Chrome profile you created.
    Example: John Doe - Alta

  4. Open Alta.

  5. You should automatically be logged in to your colleague’s Alta account.

  6. Make any needed changes to the LinkedIn connection.
