Summary: The Suggest Campaigns button on the Campaigns page has Katie research your product and generate three draft campaigns — each targeting a different ideal customer profile, with its own audience and pitch — ready for you to review, adjust, and launch.
Who this is for: Anyone starting from a blank slate or looking for new audiences to target — especially useful right after onboarding, or when you want fresh ICP ideas.
Before you start
You'll need your product website URL, one or more knowledge base items (files or URLs), or both. If your product URL is already saved in Compass, Alta pre-fills it for you.
Generate suggested campaigns
Go to the Campaigns page and click Suggest Campaigns. (If you have no campaigns yet, you'll also see it on the empty state next to Add campaign.)
In the "Let's explore new audiences together" dialog, add your product website and/or knowledge base items so Katie can tailor a suitable ICP:
Website URL — pre-filled from your Compass product URL if you've set one; otherwise enter it (e.g.
www.example.com).Use knowledge base — opens a picker of your knowledge base files and URLs. Search with Search resources, tick the items you want, or use Select all. You can add new items on the spot with + Add resource → Add File or Add URL.
Click Generate. The dialog closes and you'll see Katie's banner on the Campaigns page: "Generating 3 personalized campaigns…"
What Katie generates
Generation runs in the background and typically takes a couple of minutes. When it finishes, the new campaigns appear at the top of your Campaigns list with a note from Katie: each one focuses on a different ICP strategy.
Every suggested campaign includes:
A targeted audience — an ICP search built on Alta's B2B people data, with filters chosen for that strategy.
A reason — shown on the campaign card, explaining why this audience was suggested.
A complete pitch — offering description, pain points, proof points, value propositions, and a call to action, generated from your website and knowledge base research.
All three campaigns are created as drafts. Nothing is sent until you review and launch them.
Review and launch
Click a suggested campaign to open it in the Campaign Builder.
Review the audience filters and adjust them to match your targeting.
Review the pitch and messaging. Generated pitches default to an Enthusiastic tone and American English — change these in the pitch settings if needed.
Launch when you're ready.
Tips and common pitfalls
The Generate button stays disabled until you enter a valid URL or select at least one knowledge base item — if it's greyed out, that's why.
Only one generation runs at a time; the Suggest Campaigns button is disabled while a batch is in progress.
You can navigate away while Katie works — the campaigns are created in the background and will be waiting in your Campaigns list as drafts.
The more context you give (website plus relevant knowledge base items like case studies or one-pagers), the sharper the suggested ICPs and pitches.
